Scars
A few months ago I dropped a painting on my face. No joke. It left a scar above my lip, right across the philtrum. (cool word, eh?) Anyway, the scar surprised me. I’d gone so long without bodily harm, I guess I’d begun to think that I was beyond that. All my scars are from childhood. All my hurts are in the past. The reminder was nice, in a way.
